Witcher
The Witcher is a game based on the motifs of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels and series of stories. The developer of this RPG is the Polish studio CD Projekt RED.
The title of the game refers to the fantasy saga describing the adventures of Geralt of Rivia - a mutant created for killing monsters, who was actually more human than many people. The game, however, is an independent work, it is not affected by your knowledge or ignorance of Sapkowski's books. In addition, in the game the main character suffers from amnesia, which results in the exposition of the most important book references.
An interesting element of the game is alchemy. You can prepare potions from the obtained ingredients from plants and monster bodies, thanks to which you can gain temporary bonuses. The game focuses its attention on the main topic, but has also been filled with hundreds of side quests. An important aspect of the game are moral dilemmas. Any decision entails unpredictable plot consequences.
An important part of The Witcher is the music. The music track composed by Andrzej Skorupa and the band Percival influences the senses and adds a dark, expressive atmosphere to the whole game.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is an RPG game set in the universe of the cult American cartoon for adults, known as South Park.
The game is purely satirical and in this part the focus was put on the mockery of comics and movies about superheroes. The action takes place, of course, on the streets of the town of South Park, and the player takes on the role of a kid called "New", who just moved with the family to this place.
This time the pals from Cartman's pack play as superheroes from the Coon & Friends group. Our character joins them to face the dangerous Professor Chaos and many other villains. But this is only a tiny percentage of what awaits us!
A curiosity for you - in this game, the player can choose his hero's gender, race or religion, which in a subtle way affects the dialogue lines present in the game.
Fallout (1996)
The Fallout plot was set in an environment destroyed by the great nuclear war. Civilization has been almost completely destroyed, and those who survived must live in a ruined world inhabited by mutants. In addition, there is dangerous radiation on the surface. It is safe only in basements, shelters, grottos and such places.
In this world, our hero grows up. His community managed to live in peace until the day the chip responsible for the production of clean water broke down. On our hero depends the life of all vault residents, because it was he who was chosen to go to the surface and find a new chip.
Fallout is an amazing journey through an apocalyptic environment. A lot of places to visit and many fights to fight are waiting for us.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a strong turn towards RPG. This is the tenth full-fledged part of the series. Previous parts were action games. This game takes us back to the times of ancient Greece.
The hero is forced, among others, to make various moral choices and participate in interactive dialogues which allows him to get to the next levels of experience.
We can choose between two characters - Kassandra or Alexios. They are the grandchildren of the famous Spartan king Leonidas. As adults, they live as mercenaries. In their youth, they were excommunicated and expelled from their homeland. The story begins when our hero takes a dangerous job that will open the way for him to regain his family.
The plot of the game is somewhat non-linear. We will not change the fate of the world, but all choices have an impact on our immediate surroundings.
Worth mentioning is the fact that historical figures have been placed in Odyssey. We will meet here Socrates, Pericles, Hippocrates and Herodot.
The plot is, just like in previous parts, about the fictitious conflict between assassins and the templars manipulating world. We have a huge open area, covering almost the whole of ancient Greece.
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Mass Effect: Andromeda is the fourth part of the best selling RPG series set in the reality of science fiction.
The plot tells about the "Andromeda Initiative" launched in 2176 - seven years before the events of the first part of the series. The purpose of the initiative was to build Arks which are huge spaceships transporting representatives of many races to the eponymous galaxy of Andromeda.
The task of the escapade is not only to explore the new world, but also to try finding a new place to live and a quick way to move between galaxies.
The main characters of the game are Sarah and Scott Ryder.
Our choices affect the story. Not everything is black or white here. Moral dilemmas have shades of gray, which has an interesting impact on the development of the action.
